One front door to the Queensland Government

My Services, My Way is the Queensland Government's unified services platform: one secure portal that departments across government are onboarding onto, with a single identity for every Queenslander. Patient Zero has partnered with the government for more than three years to design, build, run and extend it, delivered entirely by our Brisbane engineering team.

The problem: forty front doors

Queensland Government services were spread across departments and platforms, each with its own website, its own forms, and no unified view of what a citizen had submitted or where it was up to. Many services were hard-coded and owned by different teams in different agencies, so updates were slow, expensive, and sometimes impossible. Smaller departments without technology teams of their own were stuck entirely.

The platform: departments publish, Queenslanders track, identity carries

Departments self-serve

Agencies create and publish forms and services directly, assembling them from a library of around 70 reusable components, so a service built by one department looks, behaves and complies like one built by any other. Accessibility to WCAG 2.1 AA and security are engineered into the components once and inherited by every form that uses them. Smaller departments move as fast as large ones, without waiting on developers.

Queenslanders see everything in one place

One portal to find services, submit applications, and track progress in real time, with every submission collated and visible.

Tell Us Once

A shared identity service means a Queenslander updates their details once and the change carries across government. One login, one record, every department.

Built for the worst week of someone's life

The platform's disaster recovery forms are the state's front door in cyclones and floods, and they're engineered for that job. Surge and endurance testing processed more than 214,000 submissions, peaking at 110,145 in 73 minutes, because when a disaster payment opens, that's what arrival actually looks like: Queensland's Personal Hardship Assistance grants supported more than 155,000 people after Cyclone Jasper alone.

The efficiency isn't abstract. Self-service at disaster scale returns staff-hours to the people standing in evacuation centres, and moves grant money toward households while it still changes outcomes.

The outcome

Departments roll out and update services in days instead of quarters. Queenslanders have one view of their dealings with government instead of a website per agency. Duplication is down, transparency is up, and the platform has become the default home for new citizen services, including the state's most sensitive.

Daniel's Law: the state's most sensitive delivery

In December 2025 the platform carried its most sensitive delivery: Daniel's Law, Queensland's first public child sex offender register, a site where parents and carers can check whether convicted offenders live nearby or have contact with their child. It honours Daniel Morcombe, abducted and murdered in 2003 at age 13, and two decades of advocacy by his parents.

The legislative deadline of 31 December was immovable. The register went live on time, verifying users through myID or QDI against driver licence data via secure cross-platform integration, so that locality searches are conducted lawfully and citizen data stays protected. Day one traffic was handled without compromising privacy or performance.

In its first six months, as publicly reported: more than 380,000 visits, 44,400 locality searches processed, 14 reportable offenders identified, and three charged.
