Winner: UX Leader of the Year & Product Strategy (Women in Digital)

November 9, 2023

We are proud to announce that Demelza Green has been awarded the title of UX Leader of the Year at the Women in Digital National Awards.

This accolade validates Patient Zero's product-led delivery philosophy. It proves that when you combine Technical Excellence with deep User Experience (UX) strategy, you don't just build software, you build digital products that create meaningful human connections.

Validating the Product-Led Model

Demelza’s win recognises her ability to bridge the gap between "building code" and "designing value." As Principal Experience Manager (now Co-CEO), she championed a strategy where design principles and "guardrails" drive development, ensuring that every line of code serves a user need.

For our clients, this distinction is critical. It means Patient Zero doesn't just execute tickets; we apply a UX-first mindset to complex problems, ensuring high adoption rates and tangible ROI.

Case Study: The Birrunga Gallery AR App

The award highlighted Demelza’s leadership on the ground-breaking Birrunga Gallery Augmented Reality (AR) App. This project transformed how audiences engage with art, connecting users to Indigenous stories through a vibrant digital lens.

The judges noted the unique challenge of balancing modern tech with ancient culture:

“Goosebumps. Bridging our ancient culture with modern tech... The passion and deep respect for the Indigenous culture and storytelling while developing the solution is evident in the end result.”

Leadership That Drives Velocity

Beyond the design, this award celebrates delivery velocity. Demelza led a cross-functional team to secure funding, design, build, and launch the solution in "weeks, not years."

This is the core of the Patient Zero promise: 100% onshore teams working in close collaboration to cut through bureaucracy and deliver sovereign innovation at speed.

Why This Matters

This award serves as independent validation of our capabilities in three key areas:

  • Product Mastery: We don't just build what you ask for; we help you design what your users actually need. This award validates our ability to lead complex Product Strategy.

  • Cultural Intelligence: The Birrunga project proves our ability to handle sensitive, culturally significant content with respect and precision - a critical capability for Government and For-Purpose sectors.

  • Rapid Delivery: Validates our ability to assemble cross-functional teams (Design + Tech) that go from "Concept to Launch" in months, not years.
